Moldova recorded third airspace violation of the day

The Ministry of Defense of Moldova on the evening of September 30 recorded the third case of violation of the country's airspace in a single day. An unidentified flying object entered the territory of Moldova from Ukraine.

This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Moldova.

According to the department, the object crossed the state border at approximately 20:45 from the settlement of Shershentsy in the Vinnytsia region of Ukraine and was moving towards Slobozia-Rașcov in the Transnistrian region.

Then the object continued moving towards Țipova in the Rezina district and disappeared from surveillance systems near the settlement of Brănești in the Orhei district. The ministry has not yet specified the exact type of the aircraft.

Due to the incident, the airspace in the central part of Moldova was temporarily closed. The restrictions were in effect until 21:07, after which the airspace was reopened.

This is already the third such episode on September 30. The first occurred at approximately 05:43: according to the Ministry of Defense, a drone entered Moldova's airspace, fell outside the village of Hîrbovăț in the Anenii Noi district and exploded.

Later, the authorities reported that the explosion occurred approximately 40 meters above the ground after the device collided with a radio communication antenna structure. Debris was scattered over a distance of more than 200 meters.

The second violation was recorded at 10:26 near the village of Lunga in the Dubăsari district. The Ministry of Defense of Moldova reported a drone that was moving towards the northern part of the country. During its flight, the authorities closed the airspace of the central and northern zones. Later, the drone disappeared from surveillance systems near the village of Arionești in the Dondușeni district.

The Moldovan Ministry of Defense stressed that today's airspace violations occurred against the backdrop of massive Russian attacks on Ukraine. At the same time, the origin and affiliation of the last detected object have not yet been officially established.

The Air Operations Service of the National Army continues to monitor the airspace together with other state structures and international partners.
