In Kyiv, drones hit the Pivdennyi Bridge, movement is starting to be restored
In Kyiv, the movement of public transport across the Pivdennyi Bridge is starting to be restored after two hits by Russian drones near the supporting part of the structure. Ground transport is already returning to its usual routes, but the movement of metro trains across the bridge has not yet been resumed.
This was reported by the Kyiv City State Administration (KMDA).
According to preliminary inspection results, specialists of the "Kyivavtoshlyakhmist" utility company did not find critical damage to the bridge structures. Buses No. 22 and No. 91 are resuming movement across the Pivdennyi Bridge according to the usual schemes.
At the same time, the inspection of the metro structures on the bridge continues. Until it is completed, trains of the "green" Syretsko-Pecherska line are running on separate sections - between the stations "Syrets" and "Vydubychi", as well as "Osokorky" and "Chervony Khutir". The resumption of continuous metro traffic will be announced additionally.
Earlier, Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko reported two hits by UAVs near the supporting part of the Pivdennyi Bridge. After the attack, the movement of the metro and ground public transport across the bridge was completely stopped for inspection of the structure.
During the restrictions, buses No. 22 and No. 91 were diverted through the Darnytskyi railway bridge in both directions.
Around 11:30, while one of the metro trains was moving, dust entered the passenger compartment through the ventilation system due to the shock wave. The passengers and the driver were not injured, the windows and structures of the carriage remained undamaged. The train was sent to the electric depot for additional inspection.
Specialists continue to check the metro structures and other elements of the Pivdennyi Bridge infrastructure.
