September ended with a significant rise in fuel prices at Ukrainian gas stations. Over the month, the average price of A-95 gasoline increased by almost 9 UAH per liter, premium A-95+ by more than 9.5 UAH, and diesel fuel by approximately 7 UAH. In early October, the market shifted to a much calmer dynamic.

This is evidenced by monitoring data from the A-95 Consulting Group.

In early September, the average price of A-95 in Ukraine was 80.32 UAH/l. As of October 1, it reached 89.27 UAH/l. Thus, gasoline increased by an average of 8.95 UAH per liter over September.

Premium gasoline changed even more noticeably. A-95+ rose from 84.03 to 93.57 UAH/l over the month - a jump of 9.54 UAH. Diesel fuel increased from 91.41 to 98.44 UAH/l, or 7.03 UAH.

The dynamics of autogas remained much more restrained. Its average cost increased from 43.06 UAH/l in early September to 43.93 UAH/l in early October - by 87 kopecks.

However, already on October 2, the overall increase virtually stopped. The average price of A-95 decreased by 2 kopecks per day - to 89.25 UAH/l, diesel - by 4 kopecks, to 98.40 UAH/l. A-95+ fell on average to 93 UAH/l, while autogas remained practically at the previous level - 43.93 UAH/l.

The noticeable daily decrease in premium gasoline is largely due to the change in UKRNAFTA's price tags: the chain reduced A-95+ immediately by 3 UAH/l - from 91.90 to 88.90 UAH/l. At the same time, regular A-95, diesel and autogas in the chain remained unchanged.

Among the largest operators, most prices remained unchanged on October 2.

Compared to the beginning of September, the price increases in large chains were significant. SOCAR raised its average price of A-95 by about 11 UAH/l over this period, UKRNAFTA and UPG by 10 UAH/l, AMIC by almost 10 UAH/l. In OKKO and WOG, gasoline became more expensive by 9 UAH/l.

The growth was smaller in "BRSM-Nafta" and KLO. The former's A-95 is now about 7.8 UAH more expensive than on September 1, and KLO's by 5.3 UAH.

The picture was similar in the diesel segment. Over the month, diesel in SOCAR went up by more than 8 UAH/l, in UKRNAFTA and UPG by 8 UAH, in AMIC by almost 8 UAH. In OKKO and WOG the increase was 6 UAH/l, in KLO about 5 UAH.

Against the backdrop of almost complete stability among large chains on October 2, more active price revisions took place among some smaller operators. VostokGaz lowered A-95 and diesel by an average of 2 UAH/l, and autogas by 1 UAH. "DNIPRONAFTA" reduced the price of A-95 by 1 UAH/l and diesel by 2 UAH/l. In the "Olas" chain, diesel fell by 1 UAH, autogas by 40 kopecks.

At the same time, "Avantage 7" and RLS raised autogas by approximately 50 kopecks per liter.

Thus, after a large-scale price revision throughout September, the beginning of October has not yet brought a new general wave of price increases. Major chains are keeping their prices, and changes are concentrated mostly in individual types of fuel and local operators.

As reported by Kurs Ukrainy in early September, the market entered autumn with the first increases in gasoline prices at large chains.
