Russia strikes Odesa region and Zaporizhzhia: infrastructure damaged
On the night of October 5, Russian troops attacked infrastructure facilities in Odesа region and Zaporizhzhia. In Odesa region, industrial and port infrastructure came under attack, where large-scale fires broke out.
According to the Odesa Regional Military Administration, after the attack, rescuers worked at several strike sites. Due to heavy smoke, specialists in radiological, chemical and biological protection from the State Emergency Service were engaged to survey the territory.

According to the results of measurements, no hazardous substances were detected in the air, and the radiation background remained within normal limits.
The State Emergency Service clarified that fires at the damaged industrial infrastructure had to be extinguished under conditions of high temperature and repeated air raid alerts. In total, more than 90 rescuers from the State Emergency Service and representatives of the Association of Voluntary Firefighters of Ukraine were involved in the elimination of the consequences.
The Izmail district also suffered certain damages. At the same time, the main consequences of the strike on Odesa region were damage to industrial and port infrastructure and large-scale fires at the impact sites.
In Odesa region, as of the morning, all fires were extinguished. There were no fatalities or injuries; work on eliminating the consequences continues at the damaged facilities.
In addition, Russian troops attacked an infrastructure facility in Zaporizhzhia. The Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration preliminarily reported that no people were injured as a result of the strike. The type and scale of damage to the facility have not been specified so far.
