Dollar consolidates above 45 hryvnias on the interbank market
On Monday, October 5, on the interbank foreign exchange market, cashless dollar quotes once again rose above the psychological level of 45 UAH and by the time of writing reached 45.085 UAH on the bid side.
Thus, the dollar came close to the historic peak set on June 10, 2026. The reason for the growth on the interbank market is a sharp jump in the dollar on FOREX due to the expanding financial crisis in France, as well as the escalation in the Middle East, where Yemeni government forces began a special operation against local Houthis.
Nevertheless, it has not yet been possible to update the historic maximum for the dollar. Active actions of the NBU, which massively sells dollars to meet increased demand, prevented this.
By the time of writing, the volume of transactions in the Bloomberg trading system exceeded 160 million dollars and continues to grow. The National Bank does not stop daily foreign exchange interventions; in the past week alone, it sold more than 1.3 billion US dollars.
The euro on the interbank foreign exchange market of Ukraine on Monday is trading in the range of 50.34-50.51 UAH on the bid side - about 15-20 kopecks cheaper than last Friday. On the international foreign exchange market FOREX this morning, the euro fell to 1.1161 dollars, but by the time of writing it has already returned above 1.12 dollars.
Cash dollar prices on Monday rose slightly. If last Friday wholesale exchange offices in Kyiv sold the dollar at 44.83-44.86 UAH, today they are already at 44.88-44.90 UAH. At the same time, according to operators of the cash currency market, there is no particular demand, the figures were simply raised following the interbank market. In Kropyvnytskyi today the dollar is sold at 44.90 UAH, in Odesa - at 44.95 UAH, in Khmelnytskyi - at exactly 45.00 UAH, in Odesa - at 45.05 UAH.
Ukrainian banks by 12:00 sell the dollar at prices from 44.99 UAH in the western branches of Bank Lviv to Bank Trust Capital at 45.55 UAH in Zaporizhzhia Metabank. As for the euro, at the moment the cheapest can be purchased at 50.60 UAH in Raiffeisen Bank.
