Zelensky announced new long-range operations against Russia
Ukraine will continue long-range operations against Russia. New tasks have already been defined for the Defense Forces, President Volodymyr Zelensky said following a meeting with the military leadership and the team responsible for arms supplies.
The head of state wrote about this on Telegram on Monday, October 5.
According to Zelensky, a separate topic of the meeting was the implementation of Ukrainian long-range operations. The president discussed this issue with Defense Minister Yevhen Khmara and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapatyi.
"New tasks for long-range operations have also been defined," — Zelensky stated.
The president did not specify which objects may become targets of the next operations. The timing and means to be used are also not disclosed.
At the same time, the meeting discussed the schedule of arms deliveries from international partners. Zelensky stated that the existing agreements are clear, and the Ukrainian side expects compliance with the agreed deadlines.
In particular, this concerns ammunition for Ukrainian F-16 fighter jets, additional funding for the production of drones of various types and missiles, as well as joint defense-industrial projects with European countries.
The president emphasized that Kyiv continues to seek new agreements with partners at the political level almost daily.
The statement came two days after Zelensky reported new results of Ukrainian "long-range sanctions" against Russia. On October 3, he announced strikes on facilities in the Samara region of the Russian Federation, positions of Russian Iskander missile systems crews in the Bryansk region, as well as the results of operations in the Black Sea.
Ukrainian authorities use the term "long-range sanctions" to refer to strikes on Russian facilities related to supporting the war. In recent months, oil refineries, military facilities, and other infrastructure involved in the operation of the Russian military-industrial complex have repeatedly been among the targets of such operations.
