In Pryluky, Chernihiv region, tens of thousands of people without gas after Russian shelling

As a result of the Russian missile attack on Pryluky, Chernihiv region, a medium-pressure gas pipeline was damaged. More than 18,000 residents of the city were temporarily left without gas supply. This was reported by acting chairman of the board of Naftogaz Serhiy Fedorenko.

Emergency crews of Gas Networks are already working on site, checking the damaged networks and equipment before restoring gas supply.

The company has not yet given any terms for full restoration of gas supply. Specialists must ensure the safety of the networks after the damage.

Russian forces launched missile strikes on Pryluky on the morning of October 7. Among the damaged facilities are a residential high-rise building, an enterprise, and the Children and Youth Creativity Center. In one of the buildings, a missile destroyed an entire entrance.

The damaged high-rise housed, among others, employees of Naftogaz Group. The company reported the death of one of its female employees. Local Naftogaz enterprises also deployed equipment and personnel for search and rescue operations.

As reported by Kurs Ukrainy, the death toll from the strike on Pryluky has risen to five. Among the victims are also children. The clearing of rubble continues.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, commenting on the attack, said that the Russian army thus gave Vladimir Putin a "gift" for his birthday. According to the president, energy infrastructure was one of the key targets of the massive strike on Ukraine on October 7.
