Budget revenues from imports of certain groups of clothing and footwear for April-September 2026 increased by UAH 3.5 billion compared to the same period last year.

This was reported by the State Customs Service, which links this dynamic to strengthened control over the import of goods with high risks of non-declaration, understating their quantity or customs value.

The largest changes were recorded in three product groups at once. Imports of knitted clothing in physical terms increased by 6.6 thousand tons, or 37%. Customs payments from this category increased by UAH 1.2 billion - to UAH 4.7 billion.

Even faster grew the declared import of textile clothing, except knitted. Its volume increased from 11 thousand to 18 thousand tons, or 64%. The budget received UAH 4 billion from this group - UAH 1.3 billion more than a year earlier.

Imports of footwear and related goods increased by about 5 thousand tons, or 44%. Customs payments increased by UAH 1 billion and reached UAH 3.5 billion.

Thus, over six months, the three mentioned groups of goods provided about UAH 12.2 billion in customs payments. Their total increase compared to April-September 2025 was UAH 3.5 billion.

The State Customs Service believes that the growth in declared volumes and budget revenues was one of the results of strengthening the fight against schemes of concealing goods and understating indicators during imports. At the same time, customs does not have the authority to independently conduct operational and investigative activities or pre-trial investigation.

The agency stated that granting customs law enforcement functions would allow working not only with individual violations, but also with organized schemes and identifying their organizers and ultimate beneficiaries.
