NBU exchange rates for October 8th
The National Bank of Ukraine set the official exchange rates of foreign currencies for October 8, 2026. Most major currencies decreased against the hryvnia today. The most noticeable decline among the presented currencies was shown by the euro and the Hungarian forint.

What changed
Out of the presented currencies, almost all depreciated against the hryvnia. The most noticeable was the decrease of the euro — by 0.4825 UAH (-0.95%), to 50.1569 UAH. The pound sterling lost 0.4087 UAH, and the Swiss franc — 0.2317 UAH.
The Hungarian forint became one of the weakest currencies in the list: the decline amounted to 1.45%. A stronger percentage drop among the indicated currencies was shown only by the Czech koruna — about 1.05%, if we do not take into account the difference in quotation units.
The only currency on the list that grew was the Moldovan leu — its exchange rate increased by 0.0019 UAH.
Thus, on October 8, the hryvnia strengthened against most major European and world currencies at once. This was most noticeable in the rates of the euro, pound, forint and franc.
