On the night of October 8, Russia reported attacks on industrial facilities in Ryazan Oblast and Bashkortostan. In the town of Sasovo, a fire broke out on the territory of the machine-tool plant "Sasta", which supplies equipment for the Russian military-industrial complex.

Afterwards, the company "Yandex" reported disruptions in the operation of the cloud platform Yandex Cloud. At the same time, a probable fire was recorded in Bashkortostan near the large oil refining complex "Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat".

This was reported by the publication Astra and the monitoring channel Exilenova+.

In Sasovo, Ryazan Oblast, a fire broke out on the territory of the "Sasta" plant. OSINT analyst Astra established the location of the fire from photographs and video recordings of eyewitnesses. At the same industrial site, according to open cartographic sources, a data processing center of LLC "Yandex DC" is located.

Exilenova+ published footage of a likely strike on the industrial complex and reported a hit on the enterprise. According to the channel's assumption, missiles or jet drones may have been used for the attack. At the same time, the exact type of means of attack and the scale of damage to the plant have not yet been established.

"Sasta" specializes in the production of high-precision metal-working machine tools with numerical control, including five-axis machining centers, turning-milling complexes, and heavy industrial equipment.

The company's products are used in the defense, aerospace, transport, and heavy industries of Russia. As Astra notes, the plant does not produce finished weapons, but provides a technological base for manufacturing high-precision parts and components for military equipment. Previously, the company supplied special machine tools to enterprises of "Roscosmos".

The plant is under international sanctions, including from the European Union, the United States, Great Britain, Canada, Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan.

After the fire in Sasovo, "Yandex" reported a power supply disruption in the availability zone ru-central1-b of the cloud platform Yandex Cloud. According to Astra, problems began around 01:31 at night. After 40 minutes, the technical team reported that the situation had not yet been stabilized.

Around four in the morning, the company warned that the consequences of the incident could affect other availability zones. In particular, users might encounter problems when creating new virtual machines, Kubernetes clusters, and databases.

The disruptions affected computing infrastructure, network services, data storage, and other components of the cloud platform. Clients were advised to move workloads to other availability zones if possible.

The "Yandex" data center in Sasovo has a declared power capacity of up to 12 MW. Back in 2022, the Governor of Ryazan Oblast Pavel Malkov reported that tens of thousands of servers for processing user requests of the company's services were installed at the site.

Thus, the incident at the industrial site was accompanied not only by a fire but also by disruptions in the operation of large digital infrastructure. At the same time, direct damage to server equipment has not yet been confirmed.

Another likely strike was recorded in the city of Salavat in Bashkortostan, where one of the largest oil refining and petrochemical complexes in Russia is located - "Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat".

According to Astra, local residents reported explosions and a fire a few kilometers from the city. Analysis of photographs and video recordings points to a possible fire in the area of the oil refinery. Exilenova+ also published footage of a likely attack on the complex. Separately, there were reports of explosions in neighboring Sterlitamak.

"Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat" is part of the "Gazprom" group and has a refining capacity of up to 10 million tons of hydrocarbon feedstock per year. The enterprise produces over 150 product names, including automotive gasoline, diesel fuel, fuel oil, bitumen, polyethylene, styrene, and ammonia.

The complex has already been repeatedly attacked by drones. In particular, on September 24, 2025, the primary oil refining unit ELOU-AVT-6 was damaged. After the attack on July 14, 2026, a fire broke out at the enterprise, and oil refining completely stopped. Another fire was recorded after the strike on August 13.

As of the appearance of the reports, according to Astra, the exact location of the fire and the scale of possible damage to the oil refining complex after the October 8 attack remained unknown. There was no information about a new shutdown of production.
