Representatives of US President Donald Trump, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, have prepared new proposals to end the Russian-Ukrainian war. They plan to present them to the Ukrainian delegation and European partners during negotiations in Miami on October 9-10.

According to Axios, citing American and Ukrainian officials, Washington is trying to break the deadlock in the peace process before the start of winter and the midterm elections to the US Congress.

One of the possible solutions is a partial ceasefire, which would involve halting strikes on energy infrastructure and maritime grain shipments. Ukraine has previously expressed readiness for such a format, but Russia has not yet shown a desire to agree to the relevant restrictions.

According to the publication, on October 8, Witkoff and Kushner met with Trump to present the updated work and agree on a further diplomatic approach. The meeting was also attended by US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Deputy National Security Advisor Mike Needham.

American representatives have been working on a new initiative after September trips to Moscow and Kyiv. Washington hopes to formulate a proposal that could be discussed with both sides of the war.

In addition to a possible ceasefire, the talks will cover security guarantees for Ukraine and a plan for its post-war economic recovery. The US has invited national security advisors from the UK, France, and Germany, as well as representatives of NATO and the European Union, to the consultations.

As "Kurs Ukrainy" previously reported, the Ukrainian delegation included Head of the Presidential Office Kyrylo Budanov, Head of the Foreign Intelligence Service Rustem Umerov, First Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Serhiy Kyslytsia, and MP David Arakhamia.

President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed on October 8 that Kyiv is discussing with the United States various options for a limited ceasefire, including in the energy sector and at sea. At the same time, he warned against premature conclusions about the possibility of implementing such agreements.

Ukraine also plans to discuss with the US side the strengthening of air defense, and with European partners - funding for further support.

According to Axios, after consultations in Miami, Witkoff and Kushner may visit Moscow again during October for talks with Vladimir Putin. However, there are currently no specific agreements on a new round of negotiations involving Russia.
