The National Bank of Ukraine has set the official exchange rates of foreign currencies for October 9, 2026. Compared to the rates set for October 8, the hryvnia strengthened against most major currencies.

The most notable declines were in the Swiss franc, British pound, Australian dollar, and Canadian dollar. At the same time, the Polish zloty, Czech koruna, Romanian leu, and Hungarian forint went up.

What has changed

Of the presented currencies on Friday, October 9, six fell against the hryvnia, while four currencies rose in price. For the Japanese yen, the rate is indicated for 10 units, for the Hungarian forint — for 100 units.

The Swiss franc fell most notably in hryvnia terms — by 0.0840 UAH, to 53.8040 UAH. The pound sterling lost 0.0772 UAH and is worth 59.1817 UAH.

The Australian dollar fell by 0.0666 UAH — to 31.1210 UAH, and the Canadian dollar — by 0.0582 UAH, to 31.4290 UAH.

The euro rate fell by 0.0184 UAH — from 50.1569 to 50.1385 UAH.

The US dollar also slightly depreciated. Its official rate for October 9 is 44.8526 UAH, which is 0.0113 UAH less than the day before.

Among the currencies that rose, the Romanian leu increased most noticeably — by 0.0146 UAH, to 9.3824 UAH. The Hungarian forint in terms of 100 units also went up by 0.0146 UAH — to 13.6877 UAH.

The Polish zloty added 0.0086 UAH, and the Czech koruna rate rose by 0.0011 UAH.

Thus, on October 9, the hryvnia generally strengthened against most major foreign currencies. The most notable declines were in the Swiss franc, British pound, Australian dollar, and Canadian dollar. The euro and dollar changed insignificantly.
