Dollar frozen in anticipation of National Bank interventions, and euro began to rise in price
On the interbank foreign exchange market, a similar picture is already observed for the third day in a row. In the first half of the trading session on the interbank currency market, there is a balance of supply and demand.
Trading is conducted in a narrow range of 44.88 - 44.937 UAH on the 'bid' position. The difference from yesterday is that yesterday at the very beginning of trading, the National Bank conducted a large foreign exchange intervention, selling more than 100 million dollars in 10 minutes, thus preventing possible hype.
Today, the activity of currency buyers has dropped to a minimum: no one wants to buy the dollar at current prices. Importers hope that quotes will drop even lower after the next intervention by the National Bank, and they are waiting. Yesterday, such waiting ended with having to buy more expensive than 44.90 UAH after 14:00. But hope for the National Bank, which before that often played for a decrease, remains.
The euro on the interbank foreign exchange market of Ukraine rose in price by about 20-25 kopecks on Friday: today it is sold in a narrow range of 50.39-50.44 UAH on the 'bid' position. On the international currency market FOREX, the euro makes another attempt to recover after a strong fall and by the time of writing the article has already risen to the mark of 1.12429 dollars.
Price tags for cash dollars in the capital have not changed compared to yesterday. Both yesterday and today, wholesale exchange offices in Kyiv sell the dollar at 44.93-44.95 UAH. In Mykolaiv the dollar is sold today at 44.95 UAH, in Odesa – at 44.98-45.00 UAH, in Poltava – at 45.10 UAH.
Ukrainian banks as of 11:00 sell the dollar at prices from 44.98 UAH in the western branches of Bank Lviv to 45.50 UAH in Zaporizhzhia Metabank. As for the euro, at the moment it can be purchased cheapest at 50.45 UAH in Oxi Bank (2 kopecks cheaper than yesterday afternoon). According to the information of the portal 'Kurs Ukrainy', prices for the sale of the euro have stopped falling and may soon go up again.
