Russia strikes the Roshen production complex in Vinnytsia
Russian troops on October 12 struck the production complex of the Roshen confectionery corporation in Vinnytsia. This is another attack on the company's enterprises, which since the beginning of 2026 has already suffered significant losses due to damage to production and warehouse facilities in Kyiv and Kyiv region.
The strike on the enterprise was reported by the Roshen press service on the corporation's official website.
Thanks to the timely activation of the warning system and prompt evacuation, worker fatalities were avoided. At the same time, the company has not yet disclosed the scale of damage to the production complex, the amount of material losses, and the possible impact of the attack on output.
Earlier, the head of the Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration, Natalia Zabolotna, reported damage to a civilian infrastructure facility as a result of the Russian strike on the city.
According to her, a fire broke out after the attack, which rescuers managed to extinguish. More than 50 employees of the State Emergency Service and 13 units of special equipment worked at the site. Sappers also examined the adjacent territory for explosive objects. No reports of casualties.
Roshen separately refuted the claims of Russian propaganda about the alleged production of drones at the corporation's enterprises.
The company emphasized that its plants and factories are exclusively engaged in the manufacture of confectionery products and do not produce drones or other military-purpose products. The production complex in Vinnytsia is a civilian facility.
"Spreading false information does not change the civilian purpose of ROSHEN enterprises and cannot serve as justification for strikes on them", the corporation stated.
The company also stressed that Russian attacks on the food industry threaten the lives of workers, lead to the loss of production capacity and jobs, and disrupt product supply. Roshen called for an investigation into the strike and to provide a proper legal assessment of the actions of those responsible for it.
Roshen has repeatedly suffered Russian attacks
This year, Russian troops have already attacked the corporation's industrial and logistics infrastructure several times.
In particular, on January 24, the Kyiv confectionery factory Roshen in the Holosiivskyi district of the capital was affected by a Russian strike. A woman died at the enterprise, and two other people were injured.
On February 7, a Russian attack almost completely destroyed a large Roshen logistics center in Yahotyn, Kyiv region. A large-scale fire broke out on the territory of the warehouse complex. During firefighting, a State Emergency Service rescuer died as a result of the collapse of structures.
On August 27, Russian drones destroyed another corporation warehouse - in the village of Chubynske, Boryspil district, Kyiv region. The facility was used for storage and subsequent supply of finished confectionery products.
As a result of that attack, the company suffered significant material losses, including the destruction of part of the finished products. Roshen warned of possible temporary supply disruptions of certain goods and began redistributing stocks between alternative warehouses.
Importance of production capacity in Vinnytsia
Roshen is one of the largest confectionery producers in Ukraine. According to the corporation, its assortment includes over 320 product names, and the total production volume reaches about 300 thousand tons per year.
The corporation includes eight factories and plants in Ukraine, Lithuania, and Hungary. In Ukraine, production is concentrated, in particular, in Kyiv, Kremenchuk, Boryspil, and Vinnytsia.
Vinnytsia is one of the key production centers of Roshen. The city hosts two confectionery production sites of the corporation, as well as the Vinnytsia Dairy Plant, which supplies the company's enterprises with dairy raw materials.
The Vinnytsia confectionery factory produces about 200 product names, including chocolate, candies, toffee, cookies, biscuits, and wafers.
Roshen products are presented in the markets of over 50 countries worldwide. According to the company, the corporation provides about 8.5 thousand jobs.
Damage to the production complex in Vinnytsia creates additional risks for the operation of the corporation's enterprises after previous losses of warehouse infrastructure. At the same time, the company has not yet released information about production stoppage or specific supply disruptions as a result of the October 12 strike.
