In Rostov-on-Don, after a Ukrainian drone attack, the tank farm of the Novoshakhtinsk oil products terminal, formerly known as Yug Rusi, burned down. According to reporters, no undamaged fuel storage tanks remain at the facility.

This was reported on the evening of October 12 by the Russian service of Radio Svoboda, publishing satellite images of the consequences of the massive fire.

Before the attack, the terminal's throughput capacity was about 2.5 million tons of oil products per year. The facility was used for storage and transshipment of fuel, including for export. Its infrastructure ensured the shipment of products from the Novoshakhtinsk oil products plant and other suppliers.

Damage to the tank farm could significantly limit the terminal's ability to store and ship oil products. At the same time, actual fuel losses, the cost of damaged equipment, and the current operational status of the complex are still unknown.

Recall that a massive fire at the terminal broke out on the night of October 10. Then the independent Russian outlet Astra, based on analysis of eyewitness videos, identified that the burning object was exactly the oil loading terminal of the Novoshakhtinsk oil products plant.

Rostov Region Governor Yuri Slyusar confirmed the drone attack and the outbreak of a fire in the regional center, but did not specify which industrial facility was affected.

The fire lasted several days. New materials released on October 12 indicate far greater consequences for the tank farm than were known immediately after the attack.

The terminal is part of Russia's oil product export infrastructure. According to Astra, it was also used to supply fuel to Russian troops. Damage to such a facility affects not only storage capacity, but also supply logistics and transshipment of oil products.

There is currently no official assessment of the scale of destruction from the terminal owner. Independent confirmation of the condition of all its production and transshipment facilities has also not been released.
