Cash dollar is losing momentum: situation on the currency market is changing
While on the interbank foreign exchange market the dollar is trying to consolidate above the psychological level, uncertainty reigns on the cash exchange market. In some cities the rate continues to rise, in others it has stabilized, and in the capital quotes are starting to look downward.
In Kyiv, wholesale exchange points today sell the ordinary (“white”) dollar at 45.12 UAH. This is 7 kopecks more expensive than yesterday afternoon, but at the same time 1-2 kopecks cheaper than yesterday evening. Cash exchange operators are closely watching what is happening on the interbank, and seeing that the growth of quotes has stopped there, they fear that they may be left with expensive dollar bought on hand.
How much is the dollar sold in regional centers?
In Odesa – at 45.20 UAH (5 kopecks cheaper than yesterday evening), in Poltava – at 45.30 UAH (as yesterday), in Dnipro – at 45.15-45.20 UAH – also at level or slightly more expensive than Tuesday. There is no serious demand for cash currency, as the population simply does not have enough hryvnia.
Ukrainian banks by 11:00 sell the dollar at a price from 45.15 UAH in the Kyiv branch of Sky Bank to 45.65 UAH in Zaporizhzhia Metabank. As for the euro, at the moment it can be purchased cheapest at 50.70 UAH in Oxy Bank and Raiffeisen Bank. Following the correction of the euro on FOREX, the cash euro in Ukraine began to rise in price, and there are even more buyers than for the dollar.
