On October 14, due to lack of voltage in the power grid, disruptions occurred in public transport in Kyiv. In parts of three districts of the capital, electric transport and the funicular were temporarily stopped. Later, tram and trolleybus traffic was restored, but they operate with schedule deviations. At the same time, due to an accident on the right bank of Kyiv, some residential buildings were left without electricity.

This was reported by the Kyiv City State Administration (KMDA), the municipal enterprise "Kyivpastrans" and the energy company DTEK.

Traffic of trams and trolleybuses restored in Kyiv

According to KMDA, due to lack of voltage in the power system, electric transport traffic was temporarily suspended in parts of Pecherskyi, Solomianskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts.

In particular, the funicular and trams No. 1 and No. 3 were stopped. There were also disruptions in the movement of several trolleybus routes.

Later, "Kyivpastrans" reported the gradual restoration of transport connections.

At 14:23, traffic of trolleybuses No. 1, 6, 8, 17, 18, 19, 28, 31 and 33 was restored. The enterprise noted that transport runs with deviations from schedules.

At 14:24, tram traffic No. 1 and No. 3 was restored. Their operation is also with deviations from the schedule.

At 15:03, "Kyivpastrans" reported the restoration of four more trolleybus routes – No. 3, 9-K, 12 and 40.

Thus, after a temporary outage, tram traffic No. 1 and No. 3 was restored, as well as trolleybuses No. 1, 3, 6, 8, 9-K, 12, 17, 18, 19, 28, 31, 33 and 40.

At the same time, in the updates provided, the enterprise did not report the restoration of the funicular after its last stop.

Passengers are urged to take into account possible delays and monitor operational messages regarding public transport.

Accident in the power grid on the right bank of the capital

In parallel, new problems with electricity supply to residential buildings arose in Kyiv.

According to DTEK, due to an accident, part of consumers on the right bank of the capital was left without electricity.

"Right bank of Kyiv: part of homes left without power due to an accident. Outage schedules in the capital are currently not in effect", – reported the energy company.

Energy workers are working to eliminate the accident and restore electricity supply.

DTEK did not specify the number of de-energized consumers, specific addresses and terms of completion of repair work.

According to the company's information at the time of the message, stabilization outage schedules in the capital were not in effect. This means that the actual time of electricity restoration is currently not determined by the usual schedule of hourly outages.

Disruptions occurred after a massive attack on Kyiv's energy infrastructure

Problems with electricity supply and city transport operations arose after a massive Russian attack on the capital's energy infrastructure on the night of October 14 and in the morning.

As previously reported, all three Kyiv thermal power plants and important energy facilities in Kyiv region were hit.

After the shelling, DTEK introduced emergency outages in Darnytskyi, Dniprovskyi, Pecherskyi, Solomianskyi and part of Holosiivskyi district. Usual stabilization schedules there were temporarily not in effect.

The Russian attack also caused disruptions in the metro and ground electric transport. During the day, traffic on certain routes was gradually restored.

Separately, due to the power outage of pumping equipment, water supply problems arose in Pecherskyi, Solomianskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts. According to KMDA, water pressure decreased in some buildings, and in some places water supply was temporarily suspended.

Despite the restoration of most of the mentioned tram and trolleybus routes, the consequences of power supply disruptions continue to affect the city's infrastructure.

Kyiv authorities and energy workers continue to eliminate the consequences of outages. Information on the state of power grids and public transport is updated promptly.
