In Kyiv, due to the consequences of Russian strikes on energy infrastructure, the supply of hot water to buildings served by the Darnytska Thermal Power Plant (TEC-4) may be temporarily suspended. Relevant services are working to stabilize the situation.

Oleksandr Kovtunov, head of the Darnytsia District State Administration, reported this on October 15. The warning was also published on the official website of the district administration.

It concerns residential buildings in the service area of LLC "Euroreconstruction", which operates the Darnytska TEC. According to the official, the need for restrictions arose after Russian shelling on the night of October 14 and due to the overall situation in the capital's energy system.

"We have preliminary information about the need to temporarily shut off the supply of hot water to buildings in the service area of LLC "Euroreconstruction.", - Kovtunov noted.

He called on residents to be understanding of possible restrictions and said that emergency and repair services are working in enhanced mode.

Exact terms for the suspension and restoration of hot water supply have not yet been announced. Also, the full list of addresses that may be affected by restrictions has not been published. The district administration promised to further inform residents about changes.

All three Kyiv TECs have been hit again

On the night of October 14, Russian troops again attacked the energy infrastructure of Kyiv. Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi confirmed that all three capital thermal power plants - TEC-4, TEC-5 and TEC-6 - came under fire.

In addition, the Russians struck critical energy facilities in the Kyiv region that provide electricity to the capital and central regions of Ukraine.

According to "Ekonomichna Pravda", citing sources in the energy industry, all three Kyiv TECs have currently lost the ability to generate electricity. Before the large-scale Russian shelling, their own generation provided the capital with a capacity of up to 1.3 GW.

Due to the loss of these capacities, Kyiv increasingly depends on electricity supplies from other regions. At the same time, Russian troops attack not only power plants, but also substations and transmission lines necessary for the city's power supply.

According to experts interviewed by the publication, Kyiv currently consumes about 1-1.2 GW of electricity, which is 12-15% of national consumption. In winter, depending on the air temperature, the capital's need may rise to 1.8-2 GW.

The loss of the ability to generate electricity at TECs is not tantamount to a complete cessation of heat supply. However, repeated strikes on energy facilities create additional risks for the stable operation of utility systems, including hot water supply.

Currently, the Darnytsia RSA reported the possible need to temporarily shut off hot water. There is no separate official confirmation of a complete cessation of its supply in the entire TEC-4 service area.
