The Verkhovna Rada, over two days, adopted a number of bills tied to financial assistance in the amount of 4.26 billion euros from the EU, according to Економічна правда.

This happened at parliament sessions on Wednesday and Thursday.

It concerns five documents:

  • No. 16095 – a resolution on an independent competition for new members of the Accounting Chamber
  • No. 13435 – a bill on property valuation, which should ensure more transparent, understandable and unified rules for determining property value;
  • No. 15460 – amendments to the Customs Code to abolish the tax exemption for international parcels valued up to 150 euros;
  • No. 16051-1 – amendments to the Tax Code to abolish the tax exemption for international parcels valued up to 150 euros;
  • An amendment to bill No. 16051-1 that repeals previous changes to financial monitoring of PEPs and allows the president to sign the bill on taxation of digital platforms No. 15111-d.

The first two were adopted by the Rada on Wednesday, and the other three on Thursday.

The budget was supposed to receive this tranche back in mid-September. However, because the authorities did not fulfill a number of requirements, the EU did not approve the allocation of these funds.

Earlier, EP wrote that with the adoption of these documents, the government expects the EU tranche to arrive within the next two weeks, i.e., by the end of October.

Reminder:

In the bill on taxation of international parcels up to 150 euros (No. 16051-1), an amendment was included that reduces the personal income tax rate for landlords from 18% to 5%.
