Train delays in Ukraine reach almost 17 hours due to Russian shelling

On Thursday, October 15, large-scale delays of passenger trains were recorded in Ukraine due to the consequences of Russian shelling and air raids. The longest delay exceeds 16 hours, and significant deviations from the schedule are observed on routes between the central, eastern and western regions of the country.

This is evidenced by data from the official Ukrzaliznytsia service "What about my train?", updated on October 15 at 15:07.

The largest delays were recorded on the following routes:

  • №3/4 Dnipro - Uzhhorod - 16 hours 45 minutes;
  • №5/6 Zaporizhzhia - Yasinia - 16 hours 20 minutes;
  • №109/110 Mykolaiv - Lviv - 14 hours 41 minutes;
  • №293/294 Kryvyi Rih - Vorokhta - 14 hours 6 minutes;
  • №233/234 Kryvyi Rih - Chernivtsi - 14 hours 6 minutes;
  • №31/32 Zaporizhzhia - Przemyśl - 14 hours 1 minute;
  • №39/40 Zaporizhzhia - Solotvyno - 13 hours 37 minutes;
  • №85/86 Dnipro - Lviv - 12 hours 51 minutes;
  • №41/42 Dnipro - Truskavets - 12 hours 51 minutes;
  • №121/122 Mykolaiv - Kyiv - 11 hours 37 minutes;
  • №789/790 Kropyvnytskyi - Kyiv - 11 hours 34 minutes;
  • №15/16 Kharkiv - Chernivtsi - 11 hours 1 minute.

Significant delays are also observed on international routes. The Chelm - Kharkiv train is delayed by 10 hours 44 minutes, Kharkiv - Chelm - by 10 hours 28 minutes, and Kremenchuk - Przemyśl - by 8 hours 31 minutes.

According to "Suspilne", the schedule disruptions are related to the consequences of Russian attacks, in particular in the Kirovohrad region. Due to prolonged air threats and problems with power supply to railway infrastructure in Kirovohrad and Cherkasy regions, some suburban services were also cancelled.

Ukrzaliznytsia warns that the delay time is calculated automatically and may change. During air raids, evacuations and travel on bypass routes, delays may increase, and after acceleration of movement, they may decrease.

Passengers are advised to check the current status of their trip by number and departure date on the "What about my train?" service. Estimated arrival time, current deviation from schedule and train status are available there. The company advises arriving at the station in advance, as the forecast may change.
