Seven military enlistment office employees to be tried for fictitious mobilization of hundreds of people
In Zakarpattia, an indictment against seven employees of the district territorial recruitment and social support center has been sent to court. They are accused of entering false information about the mobilization of 329 people into the state register "Oberih".
The National Police of Ukraine announced the completion of the pre-trial investigation on October 15. Among the accused are the former head of the district military enlistment office, his deputy, and five other employees of the institution.
According to the investigation, the officials used their service access and qualified electronic signatures to arrange fictitious conscription. In particular, using the electronic signature of the head, data on 162 people were entered into the register, and with his deputy's signature, data on 108 more. Another 59 false entries, according to law enforcement, were made by other employees of the center.
In the register, citizens were listed as mobilized, although in fact they were not sent to military units. Among such persons were servicemen who were already serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as deceased people.
To confirm allegedly fulfilled mobilization tasks, the officials compiled name lists of citizens who only on paper were part of military units. In this way, according to the investigation, they artificially inflated mobilization figures.
The former head of the military enlistment office and his deputy are accused of unauthorized actions with information in automated systems, committed as part of an organized group, as well as official forgery. Another five employees are charged with participation in illegal manipulations with registry data.
