Power outages to be intensified in Ukraine on October 16: new schedules
On Friday, October 16, electricity outage schedules will continue to be in effect in some regions of Ukraine. At the same time, the maximum volume of restrictions will increase compared to the previous day.
This was reported on October 15 by the national energy company "Ukrenergo".
According to the forecast of power engineers, power outages are planned from 06:00 to 23:59. The restrictions will affect both household consumers and industrial enterprises and businesses.
The following measures will be in effect during the day:
- From 06:00 to 23:59 — hourly outage schedules for all consumer categories with a volume of 0.5 to 2 queues.
- From 06:00 to 23:59 — power limitation schedules for industrial enterprises and businesses.
Thus, compared to Thursday, October 15, the maximum volume of hourly outages will increase from 1.5 to 2 queues. This means that at certain periods, more consumer groups may be disconnected simultaneously.
The reason for introducing restrictions remains the consequences of Russian missile and drone attacks on Ukraine's energy facilities. Damage to infrastructure forces power engineers to regulate the load on the power system.
"Ukrenergo" warned that the situation may change depending on the state of the power system and new Russian shelling. Therefore, the planned hours and volumes of restrictions may be revised.
The company did not publish a full list of regions where outages will be in effect. You can find out the exact time of power absence for your address on the official websites and pages of local regional energy companies.
At the same time, the specified period from 06:00 to 23:59 means the time of possible application of schedules, not a continuous power outage throughout the whole day.
Power engineers also called on citizens to use electricity sparingly after power is restored according to the schedule and not to turn on several powerful electrical appliances simultaneously.
