In Rivne, Russian drones damaged a shopping mall and a building supermarket
On Friday, October 16, Russian troops attacked Rivne with strike drones. The strikes damaged residential buildings and the city's commercial infrastructure. In particular, damage to the Equator shopping and entertainment center and the Demax building materials store was reported.
The consequences of the attack were reported by the head of the Rivne Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Koval, local Telegram channels, and the publication ZAXID.NET.
According to the head of the regional military administration, after the night and morning Russian strikes, damage to civilian infrastructure, including residential buildings, was recorded in the city.
"Besides the residential sector, one of the large commercial establishments was also hit", Koval reported.
According to Zaxid.net, a Russian drone damaged the Equator shopping mall. As a result of the strike, the rear part of the shopping center building suffered significant damage.
The local Telegram channel "Rivne Holovne" published a video of the aftermath of the attack on "Equator", as well as footage of the damaged Demax building materials store.
The published videos show the damaged commercial properties. At the same time, the regional authorities have not yet clarified the full list of affected businesses, and the scale of material damage is being assessed.
According to preliminary data from the regional military administration, seven people sought medical assistance as a result of the Russian attack on Rivne. At the time of the report, none of them required hospitalization.
The head of the region noted that air raid alerts complicate the work of emergency and rescue services. Relevant units are working at the strike sites, eliminating the consequences and inspecting the damaged buildings.
Regional and city authorities are also organizing inspections of affected housing and temporary relocation of residents whose homes have become uninhabitable.
Residents of Rivne whose property was damaged can contact the city council hotline at 1553 or city council representatives directly at the sites of emergency response.
There is currently no information on the exact scale of damage to the Equator shopping mall and the Demax building materials store, or on possible timelines for resuming their operations.
