Cash Dollar Not in a Hurry to Get Cheaper Following Interbank Market
While on the interbank foreign exchange market the dollar continues its slow decline, on the cash currency exchange market prices are being lowered very reluctantly. As cash market operators tell the “Currency of Ukraine” portal, the dollar was previously bought at a high price, and even now they have to maintain a high purchase rate, which means the selling rate cannot be lowered much.
In Kyiv, wholesale exchange offices today sell the regular (“white”) dollar at 45.04 UAH. This is 3 kopecks cheaper than yesterday afternoon. In Mykolaiv the dollar is sold at 45.07 UAH, in Dnipro – at 45.12 UAH, in Kharkiv – at 45.14 UAH, in Odesa and Kropyvnytskyi – at 45.15 UAH, in Poltava – at 44.20 UAH.
Ukrainian banks, as of 11:30, sell the dollar at prices ranging from 45.05 UAH in the Kyiv branch of Poltava-Bank to 45.45 UAH in the Zaporizhzhia Metzbank. As we can see, the cash dollar selling rate no longer drops below 45.00 UAH, even despite the cheapening of the non-cash dollar.
As for the euro, currently it can be purchased cheapest at 50.60 UAH in the Kyiv branch of Sky Bank. The opinion of analysts of the “Currency of Ukraine” portal voiced yesterday is being confirmed: even in the event of a further fall of the euro against the dollar on FOREX, the price of cash euro in Ukraine is unlikely to drop below 50 UAH. At the moment, cash euro is rising, reacting to the correction on FOREX.
