For Monday, October 19, the National Bank has set the following official rates:

- US dollar – 44.8625 UAH ( -0.0246 UAH to the official rate for Friday, October 16);

- euro – 50.4977 UAH ( +0.1896 UAH to the official rate for Friday, October 16).

The rates were set at 15:30 on October 16 and reflect the following trends:

1. On Friday, non-cash dollar on the interbank currency market during the whole day traded in a narrow range of 44.85-44.885 UAH on the "bid" position. The National Bank, although participating in trading, did not conduct large-scale interventions: today there was enough currency supply from exporters. The average price of transactions at 12:00 was 44.8655 UAH – 7 kopecks lower than on Thursday. By the close of trading, the average price of transactions almost did not change. Therefore, the NBU lowered the official dollar rate for Monday by 2.5 kopecks.

2. The euro on the international FOREX market on Friday continued to correct [rise – Ed.] against the dollar and rose to the level of 1.12695 dollars. At the time of the fixing, the euro was sold at 1.12561 dollars – 48.4 points higher than on Thursday (1.12077 dollars). Therefore, despite the reduction in the official dollar rate, the NBU raised the official euro rate for Monday by almost 19 kopecks.
