Cabinet of Ministers allocated over UAH 335 million for housing for family-type children's homes

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine distributed UAH 335.36 million from the state budget to provide housing for family-type children's homes in 2026. Funding will be received by local budgets of 11 regions that submitted relevant applications.

This was reported on October 19 by the Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine.

The government approved the order developed by the ministry on the distribution of a subvention to local budgets. The funds will be directed to the implementation of state investment projects that provide for the improvement of housing conditions for families raising orphans and children deprived of parental care.

The program provides for the purchase of ready-made housing, as well as major repairs and reconstruction of residential premises that are communally owned and intended for family-type children's homes.

In particular, state support is designed for family-type children's homes established in 2026, as well as families who were forced to leave their homes due to the war. The program covers families evacuated to other regions of Ukraine or abroad, including those planning to return to Ukraine.

Assistance is also provided for family-type children's homes relocated from Donetsk and Luhansk regions as a result of Russian aggression starting from 2014, if they still do not have suitable housing.

The distribution of funds is carried out on the basis of applications and needs of territorial communities. Proposals are considered by local and regional commissions, after which the Ministry of Social Policy approves the list of family-type children's homes that will receive housing.

The ministry emphasized that the decision is aimed at developing family forms of raising children left without parental care and creating proper living conditions for them.

At the same time, the allocated UAH 335.36 million is already provided for in the state budget for 2026. Therefore, the adopted order does not require additional budget expenditures.

The list of 11 regions, specific addresses of future housing and the number of families that will receive support through the distributed subvention are not specified in the ministry's message.
