On the morning of October 21, following a Russian attack, new power supply disruptions occurred in Kyiv city and Kyiv Oblast. Emergency blackouts were introduced in several districts of the capital, and emergency outages were registered in Kyiv Oblast. Due to the lack of voltage, tram and trolleybus services were temporarily suspended.

This was reported by energy company DTEK and the municipal enterprise “Kyivpastrans.”

Initially, DTEK reported emergency outages in the Sviatoshynskyi district of Kyiv caused by Russian shelling. Later, the situation in the capital worsened.

As of 09:44, emergency outages were applied in parts of the Obolonskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, and Sviatoshynskyi districts of Kyiv. The relevant order was received from “Ukrenergo.” In other districts of the capital, stabilization schedules continue to operate.

In Kyiv Oblast, due to the attack by Russian drones, emergency outages were registered in the Bucha district. In other areas of the region, electricity is being disconnected according to established schedules.

Power supply disruptions also affected public transport in Kyiv. In the morning, due to lack of voltage in the contact network, the operation of some trams and trolleybuses was temporarily suspended, including the high-speed tram.

“Kyivpastrans” reported that tram service was restored at 09:37, and some trolleybuses by 09:41. Meanwhile, public transport continues to operate with deviations from the normal schedule.

Energy workers are carrying out emergency restoration work to restore power supply to consumers. The timeframe for full elimination of the attack's consequences has not yet been announced.

During emergency outages, the usual hourly schedules do not apply. Residents of Kyiv and the region are advised to monitor DTEK updates and check current information on power supply for their address.
