"Ukrposhta" launches marketplace with free delivery
National postal operator "Ukrposhta" announced on October 21 the launch of its own marketplace "Ukrposhta Market" in partnership with the Ukrainian platform Kasta. The new service offers over 10 million products with free delivery to post offices across Ukraine.
The launch was announced by the company's CEO Igor Smelyansky. Details are also published on the official website of "Ukrposhta".
The main feature of the new marketplace is free delivery regardless of the order value. Buyers do not need to fill their cart to a certain amount to avoid shipping costs. For example, an item costing 21 UAH can be ordered without additional delivery fee.
The service operates within the mobile application "Ukrposhta 2.0". To use it, one needs to install or update the app, select the desired products, place an order and pay for the purchase. It can be picked up at a post office of the postal operator.
The assortment includes food and beverages, household chemicals, personal hygiene products, goods for home, children and pets. In total, customers have access to over 10 million product items from Kasta sellers.
Within the partnership, Kasta is responsible for the technology platform, assortment and work with sellers, while "Ukrposhta" provides delivery of orders. Goods will be stored at sellers' warehouses, which will allow using the existing e-commerce infrastructure.
According to Smelyansky, the project is primarily focused on everyday purchases and ensuring access to necessary goods in small settlements. This is especially relevant during the war, when due to air raid alerts and security restrictions, regular stores cannot always operate.
The head of "Ukrposhta" emphasized that the company does not view the new service as direct competition to large marketplaces. Its mission is to make small online purchases more accessible for customers, particularly those who do not want to increase the order amount just to get free shipping.
Smelyansky also assured that the project is not financed with state subsidies. According to him, "Ukrposhta Market" will operate on market principles, and free delivery is part of the chosen business model.
The company already has retail experience through its own branches. As Smelyansky reported, sales of goods in the postal network exceeded 1 billion UAH. The launch of the marketplace is to become the next stage in the development of this direction.
In the future, "Ukrposhta" expects to attract 2 million buyers to the new service. However, this is currently the company's goal, not the actual number of marketplace users.
For sellers, cooperation with the postal operator opens an additional sales channel without the need to independently create a delivery network. Buyers, in turn, get the opportunity to order inexpensive everyday goods with pick-up at post offices.
