On Thursday, October 22, the interbank foreign exchange market is showing calm, low-activity trading in an ultra-narrow range of 45.045-45.055 UAH on the "bid" position. The National Bank is selling currency, but the pace of foreign exchange intervention has dropped significantly compared to yesterday. It seems that everyone who wanted and was going to buy non-cash currency did so yesterday after the news of searches at the NBU head. Later it became clear that Andriy Pyshnyi was not under threat, and the market finally calmed down.
At 11:08, the volume of transactions in the Bloomberg trading system is only 83 million dollars. For comparison: yesterday, in just the first 10 minutes, more than 100 million dollars were bought.
The euro on the interbank foreign exchange market of Ukraine on Thursday is trading in the range of 50.54-50.66 UAH - exactly at the same levels as yesterday. On the international foreign exchange market FOREX, the euro is again trying to rise against the US dollar, but so far it is having little success, as the wave of protests in Europe increases risks for the euro currency. At the moment, the euro has risen to the level of 1.12561 dollars.
