On Thursday, October 22, new damage to energy infrastructure was recorded in Ukraine as a result of Russian attacks. Facilities in Poltava, Volyn, and Rivne regions were hit. In parts of Kyiv, emergency power outages are in effect, and in other regions, restrictions remain for the population and industry.

The situation was reported by First Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Artem Nekrasov during a briefing on October 22. Additional data on power supply was released by Ukrenergo and DTEK.

On the night of October 22 and in the morning, Russian troops attacked energy facilities in Poltava, Volyn, and Rivne regions. As a result of the strikes, some consumers were left without electricity. The Ministry of Energy did not specify the exact number of households disconnected in these regions.

In Ternopil and Khmelnytskyi regions, work continues to restore infrastructure after previous shelling. According to the ministry, power engineers have already managed to restore electricity supply to most consumers who were without power.

In addition, due to shelling and hostilities, new outages occurred in Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Kherson regions.

In Kyiv, due to equipment damage, emergency outages are forced in some districts. The Ministry of Energy warned that previously announced schedules for these consumers are temporarily not in effect. They plan to return to scheduled outages after stabilization of the situation in the power system.

At the same time, in some regions of Ukraine on October 22, hourly power outage schedules for all categories of consumers in the volume of up to two queues continue to apply. Power limitation schedules are applied for industrial enterprises and businesses.

Ukrenergo explained that these measures are necessary to prevent overload of power grids damaged by previous Russian strikes. The situation may change depending on the condition of equipment and the progress of restoration work.

In Dnipropetrovsk region, DTEK power engineers have already restored electricity supply to 47,000 households. In particular, power was returned to all consumers in Samar.

However, in Pavlohrad, emergency outages continue to be applied. Power engineers are trying to ensure four-hour rotations of electricity supply. This is an approximate mode, not a guaranteed schedule for each address.

The situation remains difficult in Synelnykivskyi district of Dnipropetrovsk region. According to DTEK, more than 8,000 families remain without power supply there. Restoration work continues.

The Ministry of Energy also reported the death of an energy industry worker as a result of a Russian shelling in Kharkiv region. The ministry did not provide other details of the tragedy.

Despite new damage, electricity consumption in Ukraine remains at the previous day's level. According to Ukrenergo, as of 09:30 on October 22, it corresponded to the indicator of Wednesday, October 21.

Energy workers urge Ukrainians to use electricity sparingly, especially from 16:00 to 22:00. During this period, it is recommended not to turn on several powerful electrical appliances simultaneously to reduce the load on damaged networks.

You can find out the current outage schedule for your address on the official resources of local oblenergos. In regions where emergency restrictions are in effect, the planned schedule may temporarily not be followed.
