PrivatBank launched an open banking service in "Privat24" that allows customers to connect accounts of other Ukrainian banks, view balances, transaction history, and make payments from one app. The new feature is available to individuals as well as entrepreneurs in the web version of "Privat24 for Business".
PrivatBank's press service reported this on October 22.
Users can combine information about accounts in different banks in one interface, without switching between multiple banking apps. The service operates on the Open Banking principle – secure exchange of financial data between banks and other authorized participants in the payment market with the consent of the account owner.
Currently, in regular "Privat24" you can connect accounts of four banks:
- Universal Bank, including monobank accounts;
- FUIB;
- A-Bank;
- Bank "Globus".
Individuals can view balances, transaction history, top up cards, and make transfers. For entrepreneurs in "Privat24 for Business", only integration with Universal Bank is currently available, including monobank accounts. Entrepreneurs can monitor transactions on connected accounts and make payments.
To add an account from another bank, open the "All" section at the top of the app, select "Open Banking", tap "Add Account", and enter its details. Connecting requires the account owner's consent to access financial information. This consent can be revoked at any time.
PrivatBank plans to gradually expand the list of available institutions. Later, customers will be able to connect accounts of other Ukrainian banks that support open banking technology.
The service launch comes amid the introduction of new requirements of the National Bank for the exchange of financial data. The main Regulation on Open Banking in Ukraine came into force back on August 1, 2025. It defined the rules for accessing accounts through secure application programming interfaces (APIs), requirements for data protection, and the mechanism for providing and withdrawing user consent.
In 2026, the regulator continued updating the rules. In particular, from April 3, changes came into force that simplified the execution of payment instructions in the open banking system. In addition, separate technical requirements regarding the use of electronic seals when initiating payments became effective from August 1.
Open banking provides access to financial information only with the consent of the account owner. However, the new service does not mean automatic access of PrivatBank to all customer accounts in other institutions.
