Since the start of the day on October 23, 159 combat clashes have occurred on the front between Ukrainian defenders and Russian troops. The most intense fighting continued in the Konstantinovka, Pokrovsk, and Gulyaypole directions.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this in an operational update as of 22:00 on October 23.

During the day, Russian troops carried out 67 airstrikes, dropping 230 guided aerial bombs. In addition, the enemy used 6,743 kamikaze drones and carried out 2,098 shelling attacks on populated areas and positions of Ukrainian units.

The most intense battles

In the Konstantinovka direction, Ukrainian military repelled 20 Russian assaults. The enemy attacked in the area of Konstantinovka, as well as in the direction of Druzhkovka, Novoselovka, Nikolaipolye, Novopavlovka, Toretskoye, and Volnoye. As of 22:00, three attacks were ongoing.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian troops launched 14 attacks near Dobropolye, Svyatogorovka, Chernigovka, Mirnoye, Gulevoye, Sergeyevka, Molodetskoye, and Novopavlovka.

According to preliminary data from the General Staff, Ukrainian defenders eliminated 43 Russian servicemen in this sector, with another 11 wounded.

Also destroyed were nine units of automotive equipment, an electronic warfare system, three special vehicles, a drone control point, a storage facility, and one enemy shelter.

Four vehicles, two special vehicles, two drone control points, and 68 shelters of Russian troops were damaged. In addition, Ukrainian units destroyed or suppressed 153 Russian drones of various types.

In the Gulyaypole direction, the Defense Forces repelled ten enemy attacks in the direction of the settlements of Uspeshnoye, Rozhdestvenka, Gorkoye, and Yegorovka.

Situation on other parts of the front

In the South Slobozhansky direction, Russian troops attacked Ukrainian positions three times in the direction of Okhrimovka, Rybalchino, and Chugunovka. One battle was ongoing as of the publication of the update.

In the Kupyansk direction, the enemy made four attempts to improve their positions, attacking in the direction of Podoly and Radkovka.

In the Liman direction, Ukrainian military repelled three attacks in the direction of Kolodyazi, Zarechnoye, and Zakitnoye. One combat clash was ongoing.

In the Slavic direction, the Defense Forces stopped five attempts by Russian troops to advance in the areas of Ozernoye, Krivaya Luka, Piskunovka, and Ray-Aleksandrovka.

In the Aleksandrovka direction, one enemy attack was recorded in the direction of Mirnoye.

In the Orekhov direction, Russian units tried once to advance in the direction of Pavlovka.

In the North Slobozhansky and Kursk directions, Russian troops carried out two airstrikes using six guided aerial bombs, and also conducted 40 shelling attacks on Ukrainian positions and populated areas.

In the Kramatorsk and Pridneprovskoye directions, Russian troops carried out no assault actions. On the rest of the front, the General Staff recorded no significant changes in the situation.

For comparison, on the evening of October 22, the General Staff reported 146 combat clashes. Thus, as of 22:00, the number of recorded battles on October 23 was 13 more than in the same period of the previous day.
