In less than a day, Russian troops attacked facilities of the Epicentr retail chain in four Ukrainian cities at once — Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Vinnytsia and Poltava. In Kharkiv, the last operating hypermarket of the chain burned down, in Poltava a 52-year-old woman was injured, and fires broke out at several sites.

The company's public relations department head Yulia Chudnovets reported on the large-scale series of attacks on October 25. The information was confirmed by the agency "Interfax-Ukraine".

The company itself described what is happening as "total destruction of the network". This refers to the consequences of numerous strikes on its facilities, not to the destruction of all Epicentr stores in Ukraine.

Kharkiv: last operating hypermarket destroyed

The most severe destruction was recorded in Kharkiv. In the evening of October 24, Russian drones attacked the Epicentr hypermarket in the Osnovyanskyi district of the city.

After the hits, a large-scale fire broke out. Due to the threat of repeated strikes, rescuers were unable to immediately start extinguishing, and the fire spread to almost the entire shopping complex.

As "Suspilne Kharkiv" reports, this was the last operating hypermarket of the chain in the city. After the attack, it burned down.

According to the State Emergency Service, during the strikes on the shopping center and a civilian enterprise in another district of Kharkiv, four people were injured, including three rescuers.

Russian troops carried out repeated strikes on the locations where SES units were working. As a result, a fire tanker truck was completely destroyed.

Poltava: strike on a store and an injured woman

On the morning of October 25, a Russian drone hit the Epicentr shopping center in Poltava. A fire broke out inside the building.

The head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration, Vitalii Diakivnych, reported that according to preliminary data, a 52-year-old woman received injuries.

Rescuers were working at the scene. Information about the scale of destruction was still being clarified, reports "Suspilne Poltava".

What happened in Zaporizhzhia and Vinnytsia

On the morning of October 25, Russian drones attacked a commercial facility in Zaporizhzhia. After the strike, a strong fire broke out, which rescuers managed to localize.

According to regional authorities, the facility's employees were not injured. This was reported by "Dzerkalo Tyzhnia" citing Ivan Fedorov.

In Vinnytsia, on the night of October 25, an Epicentr facility was also damaged.

According to "Suspilne Vinnytsia" citing sources in law enforcement agencies, the furniture department of the shopping center was damaged. The fire covered about 150 square meters.

At the time of the first reports, there were no detailed data on the scale of destruction and casualties at this specific facility.

Epicentr subjected to repeated attacks

The strikes of October 24–25 continue a series of attacks on the company's trade and logistics facilities.

Just a few days earlier, on October 20, Russian troops attacked the chain's facilities in Dubno, Rivne region, Kovel in Volyn, and Pervomaisk, Mykolaiv region.

The consequences affect not only buildings and inventory. The destruction of hypermarkets means the shutdown of retail facilities, loss of jobs during the downtime, and limited access for customers to construction materials and household goods.

The consequences are especially tangible for Kharkiv, where after the new strike there is no operating hypermarket of the chain left.

The company has not yet disclosed the total cost of damage from the attacks of October 24–25. There is also no confirmed information on the timing of restoration of damaged stores.
