Russia admits the possibility of new local ceasefires for humanitarian purposes, following the example of the agreements regarding Oleshky in the Kherson region. At the same time, Moscow does not plan to limit combat actions due to the resumption of trilateral negotiations with Ukraine and the USA.

This was stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov during a briefing for journalists on October 26.

Commenting on the preparation of a new round of negotiations, Peskov stressed that their holding does not imply an automatic cessation of Russian attacks.

"The decision to resume trilateral negotiations does not provide for any restrictions in combat actions", - said the Kremlin representative.

According to him, the Russian army will continue to strike Ukraine. Peskov claims that their targets are enterprises of the military-industrial complex, military and related facilities.

Thus, Moscow's readiness to return to negotiations is not yet accompanied by commitments to reduce the intensity of combat actions or stop long-range attacks.

Oleshky may become an example for other humanitarian ceasefires

At the same time, Peskov did not rule out the possibility of agreements on a temporary cessation of fire on certain sections of the front, if necessary for assistance to the civilian population.

Responding to a question whether the Oleshky experience can be extended to other areas, the Kremlin spokesman noted that such a mechanism is possible under humanitarian circumstances.

He particularly noted the participation of the American side in the preparation of the agreements, including the role of the First Lady of the USA Melania Trump, who coordinated the negotiations between Ukrainian and Russian representatives.

"We highly appreciate these efforts, and, of course, this can become a precedent", - said Peskov.

He also expressed hope that the Ukrainian side will fulfill the agreed conditions of the humanitarian operation.

At the same time, the Kremlin representative did not report on the preparation of specific new local ceasefires or reaching agreements on other sections of the front.

We remind you that Ukraine and Russia, with the mediation of Melania Trump, agreed on a temporary cessation of fire for a humanitarian operation in the occupied Oleshky.

As previously reported by "Kurs Ukrainy", the ceasefire regime is to begin on October 27 at 03:00 Kyiv time. The agreements provide for demining of routes, delivery of food, water and medicines, and the possibility of evacuation of the civilian population. The main measures of the humanitarian mission are scheduled for October 29.

Ukraine proposes to stop strikes on energy and ensure maritime navigation

The Kremlin's position differs from the proposals that Ukraine plans to bring to the upcoming trilateral consultations.

President Volodymyr Zelensky previously said that Kyiv is interested in practical agreements on stopping attacks on energy infrastructure, the safety of navigation in the Black Sea, and a large-scale exchange of prisoners of war.

An energy ceasefire could reduce the risks of damage to power plants, substations and other critical infrastructure. Instead, the cessation of attacks in the Black Sea would create more favorable conditions for the operation of Ukrainian ports, export of grain and other cargoes.

However, Moscow previously opposed separate temporary ceasefire agreements, insisting on a comprehensive settlement of the war, including territorial issues and the future security system in Europe.

Peskov also confirmed that territorial issues may be discussed at the upcoming negotiations. At the same time, he refused to publicly disclose the possible content of such consultations.

The new round of negotiations with the participation of Ukraine, the USA and Russia is tentatively planned for the first half of November. The final date, venue and agenda have not yet been agreed.

Therefore, at the moment the parties have an agreement only on a specific humanitarian operation in Oleshky. The extension of this mechanism to other areas remains a possibility, not an agreed decision. No general ceasefire or separate energy or maritime ceasefire has been announced yet.
