As a result of new Russian attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, as of the morning of October 26, power outages have been recorded in six regions. At the same time, hourly power outage schedules have been intensified in some regions, and capacity restrictions continue to apply to industrial enterprises.

This was reported by NPC Ukrenergo in its morning update on the state of the power system.

According to the company, new power supply outages occurred in Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, and Sumy regions due to Russian strikes.

In regions where the security situation allows, energy workers are already carrying out emergency restoration work. The timing of full power restoration has not yet been disclosed.

Power outages increased to 2.5 stages

Due to damage to energy equipment from previous Russian attacks, hourly outage schedules of up to 2.5 stages will be in effect in some regions until the end of October 26.

The restrictions apply to all categories of consumers, including the population and enterprises. Separate capacity limitation schedules are applied to industry.

On the previous day, Ukrenergo warned that on October 26, hourly outages would range from one to two stages. Thus, the morning announcement allows for the possibility of increased restrictions.

Energy workers explain that such measures are necessary to prevent overload of equipment damaged by shelling.

The exact times of outages at a specific address must be checked on the official websites or pages of regional electricity distribution system operators - oblenergo.

Ukrenergo warned that due to new attacks, the situation in the power system may change during the day, so schedules may be adjusted.

Electricity consumption decreased due to forced restrictions

As of 09:30 on Monday, October 26, electricity consumption in Ukraine was 5.8% lower than at the same time on the previous working day - Friday, October 23.

Ukrenergo emphasized that the main reason for the decrease was the forced restrictions on power supply introduced due to the consequences of Russian attacks.

At the same time, on the previous day, October 25, the daily maximum consumption was 4.8% higher than on the previous Sunday, October 18.

The reason for the increase in demand was the cold snap, which led Ukrainians to use electric heaters more actively, especially in the evening hours.

Given the damage to energy infrastructure and weather conditions, Ukrenergo called on the population to limit the use of powerful electrical appliances from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

Energy workers emphasize that economical consumption of electricity helps reduce the load on the damaged system and the risk of additional restrictions.
