On 26 October, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed laws and decrees extending martial law and general mobilization for another 90 days, until 29 January 2027. Thus, the necessary decisions passed approval in the Verkhovna Rada and received the signature of the head of state.

This is evidenced by the documents published on the official website of the President.

Martial law is extended from 05:30 on 31 October 2026 for 90 days. This is stipulated by decree No. 1060/2026, which was approved by law No. 5029-IX.

The second decree No. 1061/2026 concerns the extension of general mobilization. According to the document, its term is also increased by 90 days starting from 31 October. The respective law received number 5030-IX.

Both decrees note that the decisions were made in connection with the ongoing full-scale armed aggression of Russia against Ukraine. The basis was the proposals of the National Security and Defense Council.

The decrees enter into force simultaneously with the respective laws on their approval.

Earlier, on 26 October, the Verkhovna Rada supported the extension of martial law and mobilization. For the first draft law No. 16182, 293 people's deputies voted, and for the second No. 16183, 281 parliamentarians voted.

This is already the 21st extension of the respective legal regimes since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion in February 2022.

For citizens and businesses, the current rules of martial law and mobilization remain in effect. In particular, the mobilization measures stipulated by legislation, special features of military registration, and mechanisms for reserving liable-for-military-service employees continue to operate.

At the same time, the signed documents do not establish new rules for conscription, military registration, or reservation. They exclusively provide for the extension of the terms of martial law and general mobilization.
