Russian troops struck the South Bridge in Kyiv again on the night of October 27. The hit damaged metro infrastructure, and motor traffic across the bridge was completely blocked. Restrictions were also introduced on the green metro line.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported this.
According to him, specialists are working on the South Bridge assessing the damage after the Russian attack. As of the morning of October 27, the bridge remains completely closed to traffic. The timeline for restoring traffic has not yet been announced.

The hit also damaged metro infrastructure located on the bridge. Because of this, train service on the green (Syretsko-Pecherska) line was temporarily restricted.
Currently, green line trains run only between the "Syrets" and "Vydubychi" stations. Service on the "Osokorky" - "Chervony Khutir" section is suspended. Trains also do not run across the South Bridge.
On the red metro line, traffic was restored in full. All stations are open to passengers, and trains run between "Akademmistechko" and "Lisova".
Late in the evening of October 26, as a result of the Russian attack, metro facilities between the "Darnytsia" and "Chernihivska" stations, as well as exits from the "Lisova" station, were damaged. Metro workers carried out restoration work throughout the night, which allowed all red line stations to be opened by morning.
Due to the closure of the South Bridge and metro restrictions, the capital's authorities strengthened ground public transport. As reported by the Kyiv City State Administration, buses No. 22 and No. 91 temporarily run via the Darnytskyi Bridge. The number of buses on these routes has been increased. The temporary route No. 1-M has also been reinforced.
In addition to the South Bridge, other damage to city infrastructure was recorded during the night attack. According to Klitschko, in the Podilskyi district, a Russian strike hit an administrative building, and at two other addresses, hits were recorded in non-residential buildings.
In total, as a result of the Russian attacks on Kyiv, which have been ongoing since the evening of October 26, one person died and 14 residents of the capital were injured. Nine wounded were hospitalized.
The capital's authorities urge residents to take restrictions into account when planning trips between the banks of the Dnipro. Additional information will be provided on the restoration of traffic on the South Bridge and changes in metro operations.
The South Bridge in Kyiv has been regularly targeted by Russian strikes since the beginning of October. The last attack occurred on October 22, causing a transport collapse in the capital.
