On the evening of October 26, as a result of a Russian attack on Kyiv, the Auchan hypermarket "Chernihivska" located in the "Prospect" shopping and entertainment complex was damaged. The company announced the temporary closure of the store to assess the damage and carry out restoration work.
This was reported by the press service of the Auchan Ukraine retail chain.
The company noted that no people were injured as a result of the attack. The store will not accept customers until the inspection of its technical condition and the necessary repairs are completed.
The hypermarket is located near the "Chernihivska" metro station in Kyiv. The consequences of the Russian strike were captured by photojournalist Yan Dobronosov of the publication "Telegraf". The publication released a video of the damaged commercial facility.
The scale of material damage at Auchan has not yet been disclosed. The company also did not report how much time will be needed to restore the hypermarket's operations.
This is not the first case of damage to Auchan commercial facilities in Kyiv over the past month.
In particular, on October 22, during a massive Russian attack on the capital, the Auchan "Pochaina" store was damaged. According to the retailer's press service, the facade and the entrance group of the hypermarket suffered minor damage. At the same time, the store continued to operate normally.
Earlier, on September 26, a Russian drone damaged the Auchan "Bilychi" hypermarket, located near the Lavina Mall shopping and entertainment center in the Sviatoshynskyi district of Kyiv. At that time, the company also temporarily suspended the operation of the commercial facility to assess the destruction and carry out repairs. No employees or visitors were injured.
Another significant incident occurred on August 30, 2023. At that time, fragments of a Russian missile damaged the Auchan hypermarket in the Rive Gauche shopping center on Zdolbunivska Street in the Darnytskyi district of the capital. The roof, ventilation system, metal structures, and part of the production premises were damaged. The company estimated the necessary expenses for full restoration in the tens of millions of hryvnias, and the duration of the work at several months.
Russian attacks also caused damage to the retail chain's logistics infrastructure. At the end of August 2026, the Auchan warehouse in Boryspil, Kyiv region, was damaged. And on October 7, the company reported a new strike on the fresh food warehouse. The location of this facility and the extent of the damage were not disclosed by the retailer.
Damage to Auchan commercial facilities was also recorded outside the Kyiv region. In particular, on May 9, 2022, a Russian missile hit the Riviera Shopping City shopping and entertainment center in Fontanka near Odesa. The Auchan hypermarket located there suffered significant destruction and ceased trading activities. The company donated the surviving products to local communities and the Ukrainian military.
