Stefanishyna has been dismissed from her position as Ukraine's Ambassador to the USA
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed Olha Stefanishyna from the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United States of America.
The relevant decree No. 696/2026 was signed by the head of state on August 3.
The reasons for the personnel decision are not specified in the document. It is also not yet reported who will head the Ukrainian embassy in Washington after Stefanishyna’s dismissal.
Olha Stefanishyna was appointed Ukraine's ambassador to the U.S. on August 27, 2025. Before that, she served as the president’s special representative for developing cooperation with the United States.
Earlier, Stefanishyna worked as Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro‑Atlantic Integration, as well as Minister of Justice of Ukraine.
