The American aerospace company SpaceX generated $7.8 billion in revenue in the second quarter of 2026 — nearly twice as much as in the same period last year. However, the company ended the quarter with a net loss of $541 million.

SpaceX presented its first quarterly financial report after going public. A year earlier, the company's revenue was about $4.1 billion and the net loss reached $1 billion. Thus, over the year revenues grew by approximately 92%, and the amount of loss nearly halved.

Loss per share was 9 cents against 34 cents for the same period in 2025. The result turned out to be better than analysts' expectations, who predicted a loss of 23 cents per share and revenues of about $6.83 billion.

Despite the figures being above forecasts, SpaceX shares fell by more than 1% in extended trading after the report was published. Investors continue to assess the company's large expenditures on the development of the Starship rocket program and other promising projects.

This is SpaceX's first financial report as a public company. It listed its shares on the Nasdaq Stock Market in June 2026. The company officially announced the release of the second quarter results on July 20.

The key source of revenue for SpaceX remains satellite communications system Starlink. At the same time, the company continues to invest large sums in the development of the reusable Starship vehicle and in expanding its satellite infrastructure.
