Media: Son-in-law of Russian Aerospace Forces commander killed in Moscow explosion

Daniil Peredriy, son-in-law of the Commander-in-Chief of Russia's Aerospace Forces Alexander Chaiko, died in an explosion near the Moscow restaurant Balzi Rossi. This information has been confirmed by changes in Russian state registries, reports the outlet 'Agenstvo'.

Journalists discovered that one of Peredriy's personal documents was invalidated on August 1 — the day of the explosion. A corresponding entry appeared in the state database on the night of August 5. Later, information about his death was also found in the register of legal entities.

Earlier, pro-Russian bloggers had reported Peredriy's death. According to their information, his wife Maria, the daughter of Alexander Chaiko, might have been among those injured. Russian authorities have not officially named Peredriy among the dead or reported that the general's family was present at the restaurant.

The explosion occurred on the evening of August 1 at the entrance to Balzi Rossi on Kudrinskaya Square. According to Russia's National Anti-Terrorism Committee version, a woman tried to bring a homemade explosive device disguised as a gift into the restaurant. A security guard stopped her, after which the explosion occurred.

Initially, Russian authorities reported three killed, including the woman, the security guard, and a restaurant visitor, as well as 21 wounded. Later, according to 'Agenstvo', two more people died in hospitals.

During the explosion, the restaurant was closed for a private event. Russian pro-war channels claimed that it might have been a banquet for Alexander Chaiko's 55th birthday, but this information has not been officially confirmed. Chaiko became Commander-in-Chief of Russia's Aerospace Forces in May 2026.
