Cabinet checks communities' readiness for possible winter attacks

The Government of Ukraine has completed an audit of the implementation of regional resilience plans ahead of the autumn-winter period. The inspection identified areas where work is falling behind schedule and require urgent decisions.

This was reported by Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi.

The Cabinet analyzed the amount of funding, the needs of the regions and the status of planned measures. The prime minister presented the audit results at a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council on August 5.

Particular attention was paid to the preparations of Kyiv, where the authorities assess the scale of possible risks and threats as the highest. A separate resilience plan was previously approved for the capital, and its implementation has already begun.

The key tasks for all territorial communities remain the protection of energy facilities, the deployment of backup heat supply sources, and ensuring the uninterrupted operation of critical infrastructure.

The plans are intended to help regions maintain electricity, heat and water supply in the event of possible new Russian attacks. Specific facilities and the protective measures planned for them are not publicly disclosed for security reasons.

Koretskyi stressed that each and every point of the approved plans must be fulfilled before the start of the heating season. Regions where critical backlogs have been found must speed up work and adopt the necessary decisions.
