The General Staff has named the most active areas of the Russian offensive
Since the beginning of the day on August 5, 216 combat clashes have taken place at the front. The Konstantinovka and Pokrovsk directions remained the most active, where Russian troops conducted 22 attacks each.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 22:00.
In the Konstantinovka direction, the Defense Forces repelled assaults in the areas of Konstantinovka, Ivanopolye, Ilyinovka, Stepanovka, Toretsk, and Sofiyivka, as well as towards Novopavlivka and Novyi Shakhovyi. At the time of publication, three clashes were ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian units tried to advance near Dorozhne, Kotlyne, and Udachne, as well as towards Belitskoye, Novyi Donbas, Shevchenko, Vasyliivka, and Serhiivka. Two clashes were ongoing.
According to preliminary data from the General Staff, on this sector Ukrainian forces eliminated 43 Russian servicemen and destroyed three artillery systems, one unit of special equipment, and four shelters. In addition, 300 drones of various types were destroyed or suppressed.
Russian troops also conducted 14 attacks in the Slavyansk direction, ten in the Gulyai-Polye direction, nine in the Kupyansk direction, and eight in the South-Slobozhanske direction. In the Aleksandrovka and Prydniprovske directions, no offensive actions by the enemy were recorded.
During the day, the Russian army carried out one missile strike using 28 missiles, 52 air strikes dropping 199 guided aerial bombs, employed 6631 attack drones, and conducted 2324 shellings of Ukrainian troop positions and settlements.
