Zelenskyy Dismisses Three Ambassadors Representing Ukraine in the Balkans

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, with three decrees on Thursday, August 6, dismissed the ambassadors to Croatia, Albania, and Montenegro, according to Європейська правда.

In particular, by Decree No. 709/2026, Zelenskyy dismissed Vasyl Kyrylych from the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Croatia.

By another decree – No. 710/2026 – the president terminated the powers of Volodymyr Shkurov as Ambassador of Ukraine to Albania, who had been Ukraine’s representative since April 2020.

Also, by Decree No. 711/2026, Oleh Herasymenko was dismissed from the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Montenegro.

It should be noted that on August 3, Zelenskyy dismissed Ukraine’s Ambassador to the United States, Olha Stefanyshyna.

A few days later, the High Anti-Corruption Court imposed a preventive measure in the form of bail in the amount of 6 million hryvnias for Stefanyshyna, who is suspected of illegal enrichment and false asset declaration.

Stefanyshyna herself stated that she does not have the funds for the bail set by the High Anti-Corruption Court.
