Support for Ukraine's accession to the EU has decreased, but remains high

If a referendum on Ukraine's accession to the EU were held in the near future, almost 70% of Ukrainians would vote "in favor"; more than 61% would vote in favor of joining NATO. This is evidenced by the results of a public opinion poll by SOCIS, according to Європейська правда.

If a referendum on Ukraine's accession to the EU were held in the near future, 69.2% would vote in favor, 22.2% – against, 8.7% – would not participate or were undecided.

This figure is lower than in a series of previous polls, however it is not the lowest recorded over the past two years.

61.2% would vote in favor of joining NATO in a referendum, while 29.5% would vote against. In total, 9.4% of respondents would not participate or were undecided.

Support for NATO accession has somewhat grown compared to the two previous SOCIS polls, however overall, over two years of polling, a declining trend in support can be observed.

Data collection for the survey was conducted on July 28 – August 2, 2026 among 2000 respondents. The possible margin of error is +/– 2.6%

A June poll by Rating Group showed that 79% of Ukrainians support Ukraine's membership in the EU, and 63% in NATO.

A July poll in Poland showed that more than half of Poles are against Ukraine's accession to the EU.
