Zelenskyy to visit Serbia for the first time on an official visit

Belgrade has announced that this Saturday the President of Ukraine will visit Serbia for the first time since the full-scale war began and since he took office. The press service of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić reported this, according to Європейська правда.

On August 6, a statement was issued saying that on Saturday, August 8, Vučić will host Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who is arriving on an official visit. Other details have not yet been released.

The visit, which had long been rumored as a possibility, will be Zelenskyy's first trip to Serbia during the full-scale war and overall his first since becoming president.

Prior to that, in July Aleksandar Vučić traveled to Kyiv together with other leaders for the "South‑East Europe – Ukraine" summit.

Vučić stated that he is "not fully" satisfied with how Serbia has helped Ukraine. At the same time, he once again did not sign the summit's joint declaration on continuing political, military, financial and security support for Ukraine and stepping up pressure on Russia.

Before that, over the last few months Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Taras Kachka and Verkhovna Rada Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk traveled to Serbia.
