Pokrovsk direction becomes the hottest: 170 battles occurred over the day
Since the beginning of the day on August 6, 170 combat engagements have taken place on the front. The highest activity of Russian troops was observed in the Pokrovsk direction, where 23 attacks were recorded.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 22:00.
Over the day, the Russian army launched one missile strike using one missile and conducted 54 aerial attacks. 179 guided aerial bombs were dropped on positions of Ukrainian units and settlements.
According to the General Staff, Russian troops also used 6779 kamikaze drones and carried out 2116 shellings of Defense Forces' positions and civilian infrastructure.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian units attempted to advance 23 times in the areas of Shakhovo and Udachne, as well as towards Toretske, Кучерів Яр, Belitske, Novyi Donbas, Шевченко, Matyashevo, and Новоподгороднє. At the time of the evening report, four combat engagements were ongoing.
According to preliminary estimates of the Ukrainian command, 31 Russian servicemen were eliminated in this sector over the day, and eight more were wounded.
The Defense Forces also declared the destruction of one Russian artillery system, an ammunition depot, a fuel and lubricant storage, 18 personnel shelters, two vehicles, and two units of special equipment.
Another artillery system, two multiple launch rocket systems, and two vehicles were damaged. Ukrainian units destroyed or suppressed 364 Russian drones of various types. Data on enemy losses remain tentative and may be updated.
In the Sloviansk direction, Ukrainian soldiers stopped 15 attempts of Russian units to advance in the areas of Zakotne, Крива Лука, and Reznikovka, as well as towards Mykolaivka and Рай-Олександрівка.
Another 15 attacks took place in the Konstyantynivka direction. Russian forces stormed positions near Kostiantynivka, Ilyinivka, and Русин Яр, and also tried to advance towards Dovha Balka and Stepanivka.
In the South-Slobozhanske direction, the enemy conducted 14 assaults. Fights occurred in the areas of Стариця, Liman, Вовчанські Хутори, Двуречанське, and Західне, as well as towards Hoptyvka, Vilcha, Volokhivka, Шевяковка, and Хатне.
In the Kramatorsk direction, Russian troops attacked four times near Привілля and Nikiforovka, as well as towards Малинівка and Тихонівка.
In the Lyman direction, Defense Forces repelled six attempts to advance in the area of Ямпіль and towards Новоселівка and Dibrova. One engagement was ongoing at the time of the report.
In the Kupiansk direction, Russian troops attacked twice towards Кувшаровка and Богославка. One fight had not yet ended.
In the Huliai Pole direction, Ukrainian units repelled six attacks towards Рівне, Huliai Pole settlement, and Чарівне. Another engagement continued in the evening.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, the Russian army attacked twice towards Егорівка. In the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled one attempt of the enemy's advance to Павлівка.
In the North-Slobozhanske and Kursk directions, one combat engagement occurred. Russian troops carried out 40 shellings of Ukrainian positions and settlements.
In the Prydniprovske direction, the Russian army conducted no offensive actions. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported no significant changes in the situation on other sectors of the front.
