Russia attacked seven Ukrnafta facilities: some halted

On the night of August 7, Russian troops launched a massive attack on seven Ukrnafta facilities involved in oil and gas production in eastern Ukraine. As a result of the strikes, some of the facilities have been shut down, and the company lost significant production volumes.

According to the company, the attacks destroyed equipment critical to the operation of the enterprises. The exact volumes of lost production and the timeline for restoring the facilities have not yet been disclosed.

Serhiy Fedorenko, Acting CEO of Naftogaz, called the night attack the most massive shelling of Ukrnafta's facilities in recent times. No company employees were harmed during the strikes. Fedorenko has been heading Naftogaz on an acting basis since July 17.

The company links the systematic Russian strikes on oil and gas production infrastructure to attempts to complicate Ukraine's preparations for the winter period. In July, attacks had already led to the shutdown of some gas production facilities of the group. In particular, on July 17, Naftogaz reported that one of these strikes became the 250th attack on the group's facilities since the beginning of 2026.

In addition, over the past day, Russian troops attacked four UKRNAFTA filling station complexes in the Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions. According to the company, there were no casualties among customers or employees of the filling stations.
