Traffic routes in Kyiv to be altered this weekend: where restrictions will be applied
In Kyiv, on the weekend of August 8–9, the routes of several buses and trolleybuses will change, and temporary restrictions will be in place for cars on certain streets. Some of the restrictions will last almost until the end of August.
This was reported by the Kyiv City State Administration. The reasons for the changes include roadworks, repairs of transport infrastructure, and the holding of seasonal fairs.
Movement will be restricted on Verkhovna Rada Boulevard
From August 8 to 29, in the Dnipro district of Kyiv, traffic will be partially restricted on Verkhovna Rada Boulevard.
The restrictions will be in effect daily from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM on the section from Serhiy Naboka Street to Budivelnykiv Street. Specialists from the Dnipro Road Maintenance and Operation Department will be repairing the asphalt concrete surface.
Kyivavtodor asked drivers to consider the roadworks when planning their trips and, if possible, to choose alternative routes in advance.
Which routes will change on August 8
On Saturday, August 8, a portion of public transport will operate under altered schedules due to seasonal fairs on Amvrosiy Buchma Boulevard, as well as Holosiivska, Mykola Zakrevsky, Academician Shalimov, Tatarska, and Ihor Yukhnovsky streets.
The changes will be in effect from the beginning of transportation services until the fairs conclude.
- Bus No. 2 will run from Vakhtang Kikabidze Street to Vitaliy Skakun Street along its regular route, then via Vaclav Havel Boulevard, Harmatna Street, and Beresteiskyi Avenue to Sholudenko Street. In the opposite direction, the route remains unchanged.
- Bus No. 39 will operate along Holosiivskyi Avenue, Nauky Avenue, and Lysogirska Street to the transport interchange at the intersection with Raketna and Panoramna streets, after which it will return via Lysogirska Street and Lysogirskyi Alley.
- Bus No. 49 from the Berezniaky city train station to Amvrosiy Buchma Boulevard will travel along its regular route, then via Pavlo Tychyna Avenue and Dnipro Embankment, before returning to its standard schedule.
- Bus No. 87 from the Osokorky metro station to Amvrosiy Buchma Boulevard will follow its usual route, then continue along Pavlo Tychyna Avenue and Berezniakivska Street.
- Bus No. 95 from the Berezniaky city train station to Yuri Shumsky Street will travel along its regular route, then via Pavlo Tychyna Avenue and Dnipro Embankment.
- Bus No. 101 from the Pochaina metro station to Chervona Kalyna Avenue will follow its usual route, then via Ronald Reagan Street and Mykola Zakrevsky Street.
- Trolleybus No. 34 will run from Pivnichna Street to Stepan Bandera Avenue.
In addition, on August 8, Kyiv will implement separate route changes for a number of trolleybuses due to repair work on Yuri Ilyenko Street. The Kyiv City State Administration advises passengers to check the operational updates from Kyivpastrans before traveling.
What changes on August 9
On Sunday, August 9, a few more bus routes will be adjusted due to fairs.
- Bus No. 31 will operate from the Polytechnic Institute metro station along Beresteiskyi Avenue, Bohdan Havrylyshyn Street, Mytrofan Dovnar-Zapolsky Street, Degtyarivska Street, Biloruska Street, Derevlianska Street, Yuri Ilyenko Street, Academician Romodanov Street, Zahorivska Street, Kniaz Volodymyr Monomakh Street, and Tatarska Street.
- Bus routes 110 and 112 will run respectively from the Ukrainian Heroes Square and Lukyanivska metro stations to Veselkova Street along their regular routes, then via Ivan Mykytenko Street, Serozhupannykiv Street, and Ihor Yukhnovsky Street, after which they will return to their regular routes. No changes are planned in the opposite direction.
Kyivpastrans recommends that passengers consider the temporary route schedules when planning their trips. Operational adjustments related to road repairs or street conditions may be additionally published during the day.
