Rating of politicians in Ukraine: who leads in trust and support
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy tops the electoral sympathy rating of Ukrainians, while the highest level of trust among politicians and statesmen remains with Valerii Zaluzhnyi.
This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by the Sociological Group "Rating" on August 5–6, 2026.
Respondents were asked who they would vote for in the first round of hypothetical presidential elections. Zelenskyy was chosen by 25.2% of respondents.
In second place was former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valerii Zaluzhnyi with a result of 16.7%. Third position was taken by Mykhailo Fedorov — 12.5% of survey participants are ready to vote for him.
Kyrylo Budanov would be supported by 7.9% of respondents, Petro Poroshenko — by 5.6%.
Next follow Dmytro Razumkov with 2.8%, Yulia Tymoshenko — 2.4%, Andrii Biletskyi — 2.2%, Serhiy Prytula and Yuriy Boiko — 1.7% each.
Another 3.9% of respondents stated that they would choose another candidate. 5.5% do not intend to participate in voting, and 11.9% could not answer.
Whom Ukrainians trust most
By the level of trust, first place among the politicians and statesmen presented in the research belongs to Valerii Zaluzhnyi. He is trusted by 68% of respondents and not trusted by 21%.
In second place is Kyrylo Budanov: 62% trust him, 21% do not trust. For Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the figures are 59% and 38% respectively.
Sociologists note that over the past month, the level of trust in Zaluzhnyi, Budanov, and Zelenskyy has not changed significantly.
At the beginning of August, Mykhailo Fedorov is trusted by 58% of Ukrainians, not trusted by 17%. At the same time, his figures have been changing notably recently. Until mid-July, 35% of respondents trusted him, and in the second half of the month, the rate rose to 65–68%. As of early August, it adjusted to 58%.
New Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapatyi is trusted by 56% of respondents, not trusted by 12%. Another 23% of survey participants reported that they had not heard of him, and 9% could not answer.
Majority of respondents do not know the new prime minister
Significantly lower is the recognition of the new Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi. 70% of study participants have not heard of him, and another 8% could not answer.
The prime minister is trusted by 10% of respondents and not trusted by 12%. Thus, his figures are currently significantly influenced by low recognition among the population.
The study was conducted on August 5–6 using telephone interviews. It involved 1,000 residents of Ukraine aged 18 and over from all regions, except temporarily occupied territories and areas where Ukrainian mobile communication was unavailable at the time of the survey.
The sample is representative by age, sex, and type of locality. The stated statistical margin of error does not exceed 3.1% with a confidence level of 0.95.
